Pura Vida Divers will be hosting a Spooky Halloween Party for our Social Night on Friday, October 17th, 2014 at Phil Foster Park. This is a FREE event and family friendly!
It doesn’t matter if you’re a diver, surfer or beach goer, everyone is welcome to attend. So bring the entire family and join us for an evening of socializing, delicious food, pumpkin carving, a kid’s Halloween costume contest, and trick or treating.
Our team will be providing drinks, candy, and homemade baked goods. Guests are welcomed to bring their favorite baked goods to the Social Night as well. This way everyone is sure to have their favorite dish. This is not a requirement! If you are unable to bring a dish, please do not let the dish prevent you from coming.
Itinerary form the evening:
6:00pm Pumpkin Carving Contest: To participate in the pumpkin carving contest, you must carve your pumpkin at Phil Foster Park between 6pm and 7pm. All participants will need to provide their own pumpkin and cylume stick for the pumpkin lighting. We recommend that participants bring a gutted pumpkin to Phil Foster Park, as they will only have 1 hour to carve their pumpkins into the design of their choice.
6:15pm Kid’s Halloween Costume Contest: All children under the age of 15 who come dressed in their Halloween costume are eligible to will a $25 in store Pura Vida gift certificate. The winner will be announced just before 7pm.
7:00pm Judging: Judging for the Pumpkin Carving Contest will take place at 7:00pm sharp. Upon pumpkin completion, a glow stick will be placed inside. The pumpkins will then be photographed and judged. We will have 3 judges from the local community pick their favorite pumpkin. The 3 pumpkin finalists will have their picture posted on Facbeook. The community will have all weekend to “Like”/vote for their favorite pumpkin. We will announce the winner on Facebook Monday morning, October 20th, at 8am. The winning pumpkin photo will become our Facebook cover for the rest of October and the pumpkin carver will get to choose their prize. Prizes to choose from include a FREE boat pass for a 2-tank dive trip aboard Sirena, a half day surfboard/ paddle board rental, or $50 in store Pura Vida gift certificate.
