Starting January 2013, Pura Vida Divers will be hosting a Social Night the second Friday of every month. Each month we will host a different type of social gathering. These social gatherings will include: Presentations with guest speakers, food and closed door sales, or a Movie Night with drinks and popcorn.
Presentations with Guest Speakers: The topic of discussion chosen will coincide with local wildlife (e.g. manatees, shark migrations, turtle nesting, Goliath Grouper aggregations, coral spawning, macro photography at Blue Heron Bridge and much more).
Food will be a Pot-Luck: We ask that each guest bring a small covered dish (registered with PVD before date of event) to share with the group. PVD will cater drinks, plates, cups, utensils, and napkins.
Closed Door Sales and Raffles: PVD will offer exclusive sales to everyone who attends our Social Night. These sales are good for that night only. We will also have amazing raffles to help raise money for conservation organizations (e.g. Ocean Conservancy, Nature Conservancy, Shark Savers, and many others). The sales and the raffles will coincide with the topic of the presentation.
Movie Night: We will show different movies locally at the shop, or we will organize a special showing at a local movie theater. The movies shown will include: Nature Documentaries: BBC/Nature/Nat Geo, Surf Movies: Point Break/Soul Sufer/ Stranger Than Fiction(2008), and just plain fun movies selected by our guests and staff. We will also provide drinks and popcorn.
