Emergency oxygen can aid in the recovery of an injured diver. It can minimize the lasting effects of decompression illness (DCI) and lung overexpansion injuries. An early response can give someone suffering from DCI the best chance at a positive outcome.
If you’re diving on charters offshore or off the beach near lifeguard towers, it’s likely there’s an Emergency Oxygen kit nearby. Oxygen first aid can make the difference between recovery and lifelong injury or death. Equip yourself with the training to make the difference.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
- Identify signs and symptoms of scuba diving injuries like DCI
- Set up and administer Emergency Oxygen
- Various methods of Oxygen administration, and when each is most appropriate
- Life saving skills and knowledge for scuba and non-scuba emergencies
IN THE EMERGENCY OXYGEN COURSE:
Gain the life saving knowledge of administering Emergency Oxygen in a 3-4 hour classroom session. The emergency response skills taught in this course are not unique to scuba diving. They’re applicable to many other watersports and other activities.
A current CPR cerification is required before taking the DAN Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Injuries course. The EFR Primary and Secondary Care course is the perfect way to meet this prerequisite.
DAN DFA PRO UPGRADE:
The DAN Diving First Aid (DFA) Pro course includes all elements of the Emergency Oxygen and Basic Life Support (CPR and First Aid), neurological assessment, and first aid for hazardous marine life injuries.
The DAN DFA Pro course is the most comprehensive first aid course in the dive industry. It is geared toward diving professionals, but is open to all divers and non-divers.
