We would love to share with you one of the entries for our 2013 Thankful for the Ocean contest from Myrna Molinari:
WHY I LOVE THE OCEAN: BY MYRNA MOLINARI
My family made the decision to support me in providing trauma therapy to veterans. In order to do this I have to be away from my husband and kids during the week and we are only together on weekends and holidays. The Ocean brings us together as a family, giving us hours of play time in and under her waves on the weekend. My husband leaves his work and stress behind at the beach and will play, literally, for hours in the waves with the kids. We discovered shopping cart treasures of colorful fish snorkeling along the Blue Heron Bridge. The kids loved the challenge of Paddleboarding the intercoastal, and I must admit that having to ride double and play princess while my husband did all the work was quite challenging for me as well. My extended family have experienced the amazing excitement of scuba adventures and had the opportunity to meet the fascinating friends we have under the sea. Who doesn’t get a laugh out of seeing an eel smile at you from behind the reef, or from having a playful octopus try to tug your hand into his shell decorated hole? Our best times as a family, our most healing, healthy and fun family times all revolve around the Ocean and I am ever thankful for the blessings and the gifts she gives to us. That is why I love the Ocean.
