The International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) is the world’s largest, one-day volunteer effort to clean up the marine environment. With volunteers from over 100 countries, International Coastal Cleanup Day is dedicated to the improvement of beaches, coastal regions and surrounding areas throughout the world.  The Ocean Conservancy, the world’s largest organization focusing exclusively on the health of the marine environment, has sponsored this annual event for the past 26 years.

So with great pleasure, we announce that Pura Vida Divers has partnered with The Palm Beach County Diving Association and Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful to participate in the 2013 International Coastal Cleanup on September 21, 2013.  Our location is Phil Foster Park!

This is a FREE event! Divers, snorkelers, surfers, and beach goers are all welcome to attend.

All divers need to confirm participation before the day of the event and will be required to bring their diver certification card, a dive flag float, and a timing device as well as sign an Underwater Liability Release Form.  All non-divers participating in the Phil Foster Park Clean-Up will be required to sign a liability release at the registration table.

To thank everyone for participating, everyone who turns in a completed data card will have their trash weighed for a chance to win a prize. The individuals who collect the most trash (by weight) will be our winners and may choose their prize.  The Palm Beach County Diving Association will be announcing the prizes at a later date.

Itinerary for the day:

8:00am: Meet at the picnic tables near the playground for an underwater/beach clean up orientation. We will provide clean-up materials and hand out goodie bags to those who attend while supplies last. Supplies are limited, so be sure to get there early.

10:16am High tide: Divers who attend the underwater/beach clean up orientation and return their collection bag filled with trash, will receive a voucher for a free air tank rental or air fill from Pura VIda Divers.

11:00am:  Please bring your collected trash and completed data cards back to the picnic tables. Everyone who turns in a completed data card will have their trash weighed for a chance to win a prize.  The individual who collects the most trash (by weight) will be our winner!
